HOME RUN FOR MOTT CORPORATION
Re-certification
and Upgrade to
ISO 9001-2000 Standard
FARMINGTON,
CT, [May 22, 2003] – Mott Corporation has successfully
completed their triennial re-certification audit and simultaneous
upgrade to the ISO 9001-2000 Standard. In addition to stepping
up to the plate of new ISO requirements, Mott hit a home
run by passing the audit with zero non-conformity notes,
zero improvement notes, and zero negative written observations.
In
the closing meeting of the audit, the Lloyd's Register
Quality Assurance auditor expressed that he had been impressed
with the continuous improvement achieved in Mott's Quality
Management System. He especially noted the strength on
the
Company's Strategic and Tactical Plans which direct Mott's
business goals and objectives.
In
organizing the initial effort to meet the new standard,
Mott utilized the assistance
of Connstep (A Resource Center for Connecticut Manufacturer)
and a group of Mott employees including Internal Auditors,
Department Champions, and Senior Management. Through
a series of development meetings and group discussions,
Mott successfully
planned and implemented the necessary requirements in
a streamlined fashion. Focus on continuous improvement
was not only key
during the audit preparation, but continues to play a
central role in all aspects of the business.
