Mott's porous metal media provides an optimum solution for material transfer or transport applications that require strength, elevated temperature tolerance, high strength, permeability, and chemical compatibility.

Fluidization is the upward flow of gas to suspend powders or solid particulate material. It is also an effective way to transfer heat or introduce liquid between a solid and gas. Mott's porous metal is a highly engineered material with uniform porosity. It's strength to withstand the weight of the solid material being fluidized, to endure high temperatures in heat transfer, and to withstand high differential pressures across the fluidized bed, makes it the perfect solution for high performance designs. Sintered porous metal media can be formed into custom shapes and joined to hardware to create unique designs (cones, hemispheres, etc.). With no moving parts, integrity of the porous metal is retained during process.

Mott's porous metal has been sold to customers in industries such as food processing, chemical processing, and coal gasification. Applications range from fluidizing solids in silos during material removal to prevent clogging and bridging, suspending food solids on process lines, supporting materials for in-process cleaning and sterilization, fluid bed ovens for removing organic contaminates, and separation of packed material for ease of disposal.
