Spargers Used in Pharmaceutical

more critical air and gas mixing
requirements in many tank applications

porous metal spargers are the optimal
solution. In-tank applications,
with the sparging elements located
in the tank, can be both, batch
or continuous flow, with or without
agitation.
Mott spargers
introduce gases into liquids
through millions of tiny pores,
creating bubbles far smaller
and more numerous than with competitive
sparging devices. The
result is vastly greater gas/liquid
contact area, which reduces the
time and volume required to dissolve
the gas into the liquid.
Mott has
designed and manufactured many
custom solutions for companies
in the Pharmaceutical and Biotech
Industries. Working
closely with process engineers,
Mott technicians can determine
the most suitable media grade and
proper configuration by sizing
the spargers to the customer’s
requirements. Specific properties
and conditions are taken into account
in the design and manufacture of
spargers. Flow rate, process
temperature, system pressure, and
corrosive effects are just a few.
Mott sparging
products can be configured into
any number of shapes and sized
include cups, discs, and tubular
elements manufactured through
a sintered powdered metal process
that strictly controls uniformity
and distribution of pores. Mott also has the
capability of incorporating hardware
based on the specific application
for a perfect fit and easy installation. Passivation
of the parts is also available
upon request.
