Mott Promotes Fiber Metal Technology with
Hot Gas Filtration for Coal Gasification Process

FARMINGTON, CT  [September, 2004] – As the world searches for alternate sources of energy, a clear focus on coal gasification and its efficiencies will require technology like Mott Corporation’s hot gas filtration systems.  Using fiber metal filtration media, Mott systems have the ability to remove particulates from hot gas streams in extreme conditions.

Mott engineers are able to develop solutions for large-scale plants using fiber metal technology that enhances process efficiencies and offers benefits ranging from lower installed cost, to lower total cost of ownership.  This fiber metal media can be made from a wide variety of alloys to properly suit applications, especially those with very demanding requirements.   The benefits of very low pressure drop, easy cleanability, high corrosion resistance, long on-stream life and design flexibility make Mott’s systems the perfect choice for process integration.

The growing focus on creating gas from coal is a technology gaining much attention due to the decreases seen in gas and oil supplies as well as price fluctuations in the market place.  As the industry continues to develop, Mott will supply filtration systems and take part in projects certain to progress our energy resources far into the future.

Mott Corporation has been dedicated to the development, application and refinement of porous metal media since 1959.  It consists of two divisions; the Industrial Division which produces large chemical filtration systems and specialty porous devices, and the High Purity Division which produces filters for semiconductor quality gases.
