Mott All-Metal Filters Systems for Refinery Processes
Designed for Demanding Liquid/Solid Applications

FARMINGTON, CT [April 11, 2006] – Mott HyPulse® LSI filters provide the optimal solution for the most demanding refinery processes. Mott filters are designed for applications that include high temperature operation, high efficiency liquid-solids separations, backwashability, and continuous operation. Fully automated Mott filter systems eliminate constant operator dependence and potentially hazardous operator exposure. The systems can even be designed to automatically return catalysts to the reactor for reuse.

When it comes to applications such as removal of FCC catalyst fines from slurry oil, the advantages of the Mott HyPulse® LSI filter provide unsurpassed results. With operating temperatures up to 650°F, the LSI filter will remove suspended solids down to 50 ppm and lower, and provide the refiner with an upgraded product for fuel blending, carbon black or Refinery Coking Unit feedstock, or additional hydrotreating processing. Particle retention size can be down to 0.1µm depending on the porous metal media grade. Backwash slurry can be recycled to the FCC riser, or blended off as low grade fuel or coke feed.

Mott HyPulse® filters have also been successful in applications such as amine treating streams in sulfur plant operations, heavy coker gas oil feed to hydrocrackers, hydrocracker recycle oil, and hydrotreater feeds.

Mott’s porous metal media can be scaled to provide exactly the right particle retention with minimum pressure drop and maximum backwash recovery.
