Gas/liquid and gas/emulsion contacting.
The simple design of Mott spargers makes them cost effective and extremely durable, since there are no moving parts that could wear out or fail. Installation is easy, and requires no special tools. From single elements to manifolded systems, Mott spargers are among the simplest, most affordable and most efficient gas/liquid contacting solutions available anywhere. Mott sparger applications:

  • Aeration
  • Bulking
  • Carbonation
  • Fermentation
  • Hydrogenation
  • Steam injection
  • Oxygen stripping
  • pH control

Filtration.
Whatever the type of filtration, Mott all-metal construction allows for permanent filters that are readily cleanable in almost any standard cleaning regime including acids, caustics, chlorine and steam. Fixed, permanent filtration with Mott filters means no downtime for expensive cartridge replacement, and no disposal headaches associated with other filtration methods. Mott filter applications:

Catalyst recovery.
Over the past 35 years, Mott has gained extensive experience in the application of our unique filtration media to the recovery of catalyst. Mott permanent filtration systems can recover virtually 100% of expensive catalysts in one pass with a minimum of product loss. In addition, fully automated Mott filter systems eliminate constant operator dependence and potentially hazardous operator exposure, and can even be designed to automatically return catalysts to the reactor for reuse. Mott catalyst recovery applications:

  • Hydrogenation of oils

Pre-coat filtration.
The unique inside-out filtration method incorporated into Mott LSI and LSM Filter Systems results in a more stable cake that traps solids on the insides of the filter elements, completely eliminating cake bridging and channel flow problems. The inside-out design also permits filter elements to be placed closer together, reducing the overall size of the unit. Typical pre-coat applications for Mott filters:

  • Juice clarification
  • Yeast removal from beer production
  • Clarification of sugar
