Prior to and immediately following delivery of its filters and other porous metal products, Mott offers a wide range of client services to ensure the highest quality product is delivered and maximum performance guaranteed.

Mott can run a customer sample in its applications laboratory to optimize the filter system design efficiency. The application testing lab will also provide data to evaluate any performance issues. The laboratory contains the following equipment which is used in new product development, customer system designs and system troubleshooting:

• Amray Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)
• Coulter Multisizer
• Coulter Porometer II
• Hach Model 2100A Laboratory Turbidimeter
• Brookfield Viscometer Model RVF
• Model Ram-1, Real-Time Aerosol Monitor
• Mettler AE-163 Analytical Balance
• Hiac Royco Particle Counter High Purity Test Stand (including sub-micron particle generator and condensation particle counter)

With respect to the installation of its filters, Mott requests a complete piping and instrumentation drawing and reviews it in order to assure that line sizes are correct and that there are not mechanical problems in the filter’s feed, blowback, and discharge systems. Furthermore, Mott provides installation and operating manuals covering all forecast modes of operation, including a section on common problems and solutions. Mott also has trained specialists who are fully knowledgeable on the startup and operation of the Company’s products.

To provide the best possible design for its filters, Mott recommends significant predesign testing to evaluate the range of conditions likely to occur. To aid the customer, Mott has a wide range of test equipment ranging from a small scale “disc test” to a complete pilot facility. In addition, Mott offers a line of skid-mounted filters which can be set up and run at the customers location to evaluate the actual range of feed stocks and operating conditions that the filter will confront.

Mott considers this same degree of customer service to be a priority with all of its product offerings. Working closely with its sales staff, the manufacturing department strives to ensure that the highest quality product is delivered on-time to each of Mott's customers.
